The AmplitudePro Xtra allows
Director movies to respond in real time to spectrum and amplitude data derived
from sound cast members. The xtra can send either spectrum or amplitude values
to Director while a sound is playing.
With spectrum values you
can,

create eq type displays
create intense music
visualizations using imaging lingo or Shockwave 3D
make animations respond
to specific frequencies in a sound

With amplitude values you
can,

control sprite animations
and properties by synchronizing
